Teresa Mealy, FNP

I am a certified Family Nurse Practitioner.  I actually thought I was going to be a finance major, but God had other plans.  After graduating high school, in 1989, I began working as a receptionist at a neurology office in Clearwater, Florida.  I was soon moved into a “medical assistant” position.  It was then that I began thinking about a career in nursing.

I graduated with my Bachelors in nursing from Armstrong Atlantic State University in Savannah, Georgia and began my nursing career at St Joseph’s hospital. My first assignment as an RN was in a cardiac step down unit taking care of post angioplasty, cardiac stents, pacemakers, and post coronary bypass surgery patients after they left the cardiac unit.  In 1999 my husband and I moved back to our home state of Florida and I continued working on the cardiac step down unit at Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater, Fl.

I graduated with my Master’s Degree in nursing from the University of South Florida in 2004 and began working as a Nurse Practitioner, back at the original neurology office, specializing in migraine management.  After the birth of my twin boys I began working for the Minute Clinic, which is in located in select CVS stores.

Our family moved to Missouri in 2012 and it was then that I began having my own health issues that caused me to take notice.  I was gaining weight, irritable, not enjoying life, and basically felt like I was going crazy.  I was never one that was comfortable prescribing a lot of medications and I often looked into more natural remedies.  However, being traditionally trained, I never realized the extent of research and treatments out there supporting natural treatment options.

In 2013 I found a Doctor who helped me with hormone replacement for myself.  Within 3 months I was feeling so much better.  In fact, better than I had felt in my 20’s!  I felt like I had to shout this stuff from the rooftops.  I immersed myself in the studies and literature relating to bio-identical hormone replacement (BHRT).  I talked about it with whoever would listen.  My life, professionally and personally, was transformed and I was forever grateful for being put through “the storm” in order to figure things out.

In 2015 I began BHRT training through Worldlink Medical.  I am currently advanced certified in BHRT through Worldlink Medical.  I am also currently taking courses at the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM).  All of this training further solidified my belief that we need to get away from “band-aid” medications and instead rely on our bodies to heal themselves by replacing what is missing with natural preparations.

I opened my own practice in 2016 to specialize in BHRT and to save the world, one patient at a time.  My husband, Mark, and I have been married since 1995 and we have amazing twin boys that were born in 2007.  We have settled in the Springfield MO. Area.  We homeschool our boys and are a close knit family of four.

Teresa & Staff

Krystena Wiener RN, BSN

I graduated from SBU School of Nursing in May of 2011 with my Associates Degree in Nursing and started working at Mercy Hospital on the medical telemetry floor. While working, I finished my Bachelors Degree and graduated in December of 2012. I worked at Mercy until the birth of my first child, Thadeus. During my pregnancy with him, I researched natural and holistic child birth and care which lead me to Family Birth and Wellness in Springfield, MO. I have always known hospital nursing was a stepping stone to my vision of working in a preventative setting.  Working in a hospital environment you feel like you are putting band aids on people, not getting to the root cause of their problems. There isn’t enough time or resources to adequately help these patients. I knew I would have to find something or someone outside the traditional system.

I worked at the birth center for several months before leaving to work for a holistic OB GYN, which then lead me to Teresa Mealy.  Teresa and I fit together perfectly! Not only thinking similarly but sharing our faith and families.  I continue to learn new things from Teresa every day and I am thankful for the path God has lead me down to be with her today.

I am married to my high school sweetheart, Casey and we have two children, Thadeus and Samantha.
